NEW EXIT DEVICES

The Right Panic Bar For Each Exit Door

Panic bar installation in Phoenix comes down to matching the device to the door. Single or double doors, aluminum or hollow metal, with or without a center mullion: each points to a different exit device.

Rim devices suit most single back doors, vertical rod devices fit pairs of doors without a center post, and mortise devices give heavy-traffic doors a stronger latch. We install the bar, outside trim and strike, and make sure the door opens with one push. Exit doors must allow free egress, so we keep your local fire and building requirements in view and suggest confirming details with your inspector when needed.

Exit Device Installation

Fitting A New Panic Bar Is Precise Work

Panic bar installation depends on careful measuring, because the device, trim and strike all have to line up on your specific door.

1

Measure The Opening

We record door width, material, stile size and whether a pair has a mullion, which tells us if a rim, vertical rod or mortise device fits.

2

Prep The Door

Old hardware comes off, filler plates cover unused holes, and new mounting holes and trim cutouts are drilled to the exit device template.

3

Mount Bar & Trim

The device body, outside lever or pull trim and strike are installed and aligned so the latch drops cleanly into the strike every time the door closes.

4

Push-Test For Egress

We push the bar from inside repeatedly, check that the outside trim locks as intended and confirm the door swings free with one motion for safe exiting.

WHAT AFFECTS THE COST

Panic Bar Pricing Depends On The Door

Exit devices vary a lot by door and use. These are the main factors behind the cost of a panic bar installation.

01

Device Type

Rim, vertical rod and mortise exit devices differ in parts and labor.

02

Single Or Double Door

Pairs of doors may need vertical rods or a removable mullion.

03

Door Material

Aluminum, hollow metal and wood doors are prepped differently.

04

Outside Trim

Dummy pull, lever or key cylinder trim on the outside.

05

Finish & Grade

Finish and duty rating for light or heavy traffic.

06

Existing Door Prep

Reusing existing holes is simpler than new cutouts.

PANIC BAR INSTALLATION FAQ

Got a Question? Or Just Call (602) 806-7771

Quick answers below — but the fastest way to a real quote and a tech at your door is to pick up the phone. We answer 7 days a week, 7 AM – 9:30 PM.

What does panic bar installation in Phoenix include?+

We fit the exit device, outside trim and strike to your door, adjust the latch and test that the door opens with one push and locks behind you.

Which panic bar is right for a double door?+

It depends on whether the pair has a center mullion. Without one, vertical rod devices are common; with one, rim devices on each leaf are an option. We recommend after seeing the door.

Do panic bars meet fire code?+

Exit devices are designed to allow free egress, and we install them with that in mind. Requirements vary by building and occupancy, so confirm details with your local fire or building inspector.

Can a panic bar door be locked from outside?+

Yes. Outside trim with a key cylinder or lever lets staff enter, while the inside bar always lets people out.

Can a panic bar work with my access control?+

Yes. Electrified exit devices or electric strikes can tie into a card or keypad system. Call (602) 806-7771 to plan it.
